Our agenda was to discover a novel contextual relationship between a piece of architecture and its site,by utilizing alternative forms of perception to engage contextual information allows for an exquisite form of architectural production.
We utilized the typology of transportation hub because it operates as a connective tissue and we used a color base algorithm that also operates to connect the sides,by extracting the specific regions of information of the existing building and deploy it across regions of accessibility colorwise whitin the site instead of using grain patterns, we restrained the information derives from the site down to colors.Using color information as an organizational model of the site lead to produce alternative formal production for the context.


Our aim was to create unique form of spatiality derived from a simple input like satellite image, not by exact one to one projection map but having some of the qualities within original drawings and interpreting them within various layers of structural system, our intuitive interpretation relies on extruded lines surfaces and panels driven from algorithm color relationship.


In this project technical apparatus happen to produce new style of representation. Through reading and misreading of information,architectural drawings become space. If we consider our drawings as our unique way of creating alternative realities and novel graphics,then not only reading the existing building and urban tissues
around it can be not limited to conventional ways anymore but also by manipulating data in an artistic manner we can reproduce architecture within the digital genera.

Starting from the context and the existing building of Lincoln height jail, we considered a raw image of site plan as an input, through algorithm  application, we translated image data to perspectival guiding map for new construction in the property.


Locating in the convergence of multiple infra structures, we decided to define the function of our architecture as a transformation hub with a large community area and landscape connecting two different side of the river from one railway to another.
Thus in order to create a powerful structural dialogue between the skeleton of existing building and our new proposed construction, we constraint the optimization to work in a specific structural goal and to locate where to subtract and where to add construction.


Our general concept is adding and subtracting as a part of refurbishment process through the means of topology optimization.
We combined, additional building and the existing building with similar structural framework, the one from the bottom comes from reinforcing and destroying and the one on the top comes from the additive process of casting and assembling structural modules.
We used the similar map of topology optimization to coherently control two different loads of fabrication and construction as one building and still representing two different map of materialization for them.
